Hello! I’m Julia.

I'm an art director, graphic designer, and illustrator based in Brooklyn. I grew up in Westchester, NY and graduated from RISD in 2016 with a BFA in Illustration and Graphic Design.

I worked at Penguin Workshop, a children’s book imprint of Penguin Random House, designing and art directing content for ages 0-17 across many formats for 6 years. As Assistant Art Director, I art directed all book covers and interiors for the World of Eric Carle imprint (10-15 books a year), and designed book covers and interiors for the Penguin Workshop imprint (another 10-15 books a year).

Before my time at PRH, I was a graphic design intern at Dr. Oz The Good Life at Hearst Magazines, and interned with artist Stavit Allweis in her creation of the photo-graphic novel, Isness.

In 2022, I decided to leave the publishing industry to pursuse a career in healthcare. After a year of continuing my science education at CUNY Hunter College, I am beginning the Accelerated Bachelor’s in Nursing program at SUNY Downstate in August 2023. My goal is to continue to the master’s program and become a nurse practioner specializing in women’s and LGBTQ+ health.

In my free time, I love watching documentaries, making posters for my friends’ comedy shows and concerts, and spending time outdoors with my dog. I'm always open to freelance work or questions.
